Ted: You remember my first head coaching job down at Fort Scott?
Michelle: God, and that tiny apartment?
Ted: You couldn't fit a large pizza in that joint. Every morning, I'd wake up, I'd be like, "Uh-oh, today's the day. They're gonna sniff me out. They're gonna send me packing." Not you though. Nope. You just kept on encouraging me. Writing me little notes. Making signs that I could hang up in my office.
Michelle: Yeah.
Ted: You always could see things in me that I couldn't see in myself at times. Good and bad. So, yeah, you're right. I gotta keep telling my truth at work. Whoever I'm coaching. Or coaching with. And yes, I should probably ask someone out on a date.
Michelle: Well, as Mark Twain would say, "Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection."
Ted: Mmm. Wait. Are we talking about coaching or dating?
Michelle: I'm just talking about Mark Twain.
